Huatian Terrace is located within Huatian Township in Youyang County, where is 41km away from the urban area. Located in Qihe’eryan (a small place) on the hillside 700m to 900m above sea level, the terrace has an area of 5km2, reaching 666.667 hectares at most, which is comparable with the terrace in Longji Guangxi Province and Yuanyang Yunnan Province. It is the Folk Photography Creation Base of China, and a dreamy world composed of curves and patterns, which is known as “the pearl of the mountain, the fairyland on earth, and the paradise in the painting.” 

The mountains and rivers in Huatian are charming with fertile land and sufficient sunshine. The unique natural environment and good ecological environment have produced crispy and glutinous, slender and transparent rices that shape like a shuttle with the jade color, extremely good mouth-feel and lingering fragrance. Rice produced in Huatian had been identified as “tribute rice” by the royal courts since the Northern Song Dynasty.

With grand scale, imposing momentum, and magnificent and changing prospect, Huatian Terrace was built along the hillside, long or short, wide or narrow, with difference sizes. The fields are developed layer upon layer, winding around the mountain and river like a heavenly ladder soaring up with glistening light of waves. What an intoxicated scene. In the spring when the weather gets warm and green grows out, it looks like a huge ink painting. In the summer when grain seedlings grow in rows with dark green, it looks like an ocean with green waves. In the golden autumn the ears of rice grow heavily like the tip of golden pagoda. In the cold winter it is covered by snows like the white jade towering up to the cloud. The chickens sing and dogs bark in the light rising smokes. The clear folk songs are heard and the pleasant pastoral music is passing from the terrace where has plenty of scenes as you love. It is such a picture no matter you see from the sky or the earth. The wonderful shape, picturesque scene, and stretching curve are the poem of the earth, presenting a countryside landscape and pastoral poem and painting for people. It is an excellent place for tourists to meditate their hearts away from the hustle and bustle.
