Located in the junction of Cangling Township and Yiju Township in Youyang County in the southeast edge of Wuling Mountains in Chongqing, Longtou Mountain is 1,700 meters above sea level with an area of 266.667 hectares. It connects Apeng River in the east and opposes to Gongtan Ancient Town and Yanhe Guizhou in the west, which is a Buddhist mountain as famous as Mount Fanjing in the past. It is well-known in Wuling mountain area in southeast Chongqing.

On the mountain are the Buddhist legacies like Sanwang Cave Feiling Temple and Golden Peak Longtou Temple, Heavenly Ladder, Sheshen Bridge, Tiansheng San Bridge, stone forest, alpine meadows, and Sanhuang Cave Feiling Temple, Golden Peak Longtou Temple and other natural and cultural landscapes. The Heavenly Ladder, stone forest, meadows, Sheshen Bridge, Tiansheng Bridge and other scenic spots are extremely spectacular. Longtou Peak, the main peak, stands towering arrogantly. Standing on the peak to look afar, you will seed mountains rising up and down endlessly, providing you breathtaking landscapes and giving you the feeling of “one integrates with the mountain when he climbs up the highest peak”.

On February 19, June 16 and September 19 in the lunar calendar every year, over 10,000 pilgrims from Guizhou Province, Hunan Province and Hubei Province gather here to worship and pray. It is a comprehensive tourist destination integrating natural landscapes, religious culture, folk customs, legends and myths, and meadows sightseeing. 

Changpu Alpine Meadows, which is connected to Longtou Mountain, spans through Cangling, Shuangquan and Huatian. It is about 10km away from the Heishui Exit of Chongqing-Hunan Highway. With an average altitude of 1,500 meters, the meadow is about 100km2. It presents the breathtaking charm of “cow and sheep appear when the breeze comes” on a vast meadow, winning it the title of “Ordos in Jiangnan”.
